Pat has earned the Certified Remodeler (CR) designation from NARI. The CR appellation is the mark of excellence and professionalism among remodeling contractors. Pat has also been awarded the Universal Design Certified Professional designation from NARI. Universal Design involves designing spaces and using profucts that can be used by the widest range of people possible, and considers the aesthetics of the space an essential element of the design.

NAHB Certified Aging in Place Specialist Logo

The Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designation was a collaborative effort of the National Association of Home Builders and the AARP.

CAPS remodelers have been trained in the strategies and techniques for designing and building aesthetically pleasing, barrier-free living environments. CAPS graduates pledge to uphold a code of ethics and are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and participating in community service.

Ageless Spaces’ co-owners Pat and Ginger Barnett have both earned their CAPS designations. They continually seek avenues for further expansion of their knowledge base and experience to better serve their clients who wish to remain in their homes as they age.

epa-largeepa-large2Logo, EPA Certified Lead-Safe

As of April 22, 2010, remodeling firms must be certified under EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule. The Rule requires that individuals (employees and/or subcontractors) must be trained in lead-safe work practices to work on houses built prior to 1978. PJB Contracting LLC (dba Ageless Spaces) meets all EPA certification requirements.

As an EPA  lead-safe firm, we are required to test for lead paint on any painted surfaces that will be disturbed during the remodeling process if your house was built prior to 1978. If the test for lead paint is positive, we will follow lead-safe practices as required by law.
